Bio
Stephanie is a native Floridian and homeschooling mom of four who has a passion for Pilates and helping people reach their fitness goals. She first discovered mat Pilates after the birth of her 4th child, and fell in love with it. Stephanie has struggled with hypermobility and joint instability all her life (she has hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome). Although she’s always been active and tried many types of physical activity, Pilates was the first form of exercise that helped relieve her pain and build stability in her body without putting added strain on her joints. She loved the way Pilates made her feel and enjoyed seeing the results that came from regular practice. Once she was introduced to reformer Pilates, her interest in the practice grew even more and she decided to pursue becoming an instructor.
As a partial owner and manager of Coastal Health, Stephanie chose to complete her instructor training through Polestar because of the emphasis on rehabilitation and working with clients with chronic conditions or other limitations. She completed her instructor training for Mat levels 1 & 2, and Reformer levels 1-3 in 2023 and is currently taking a comprehensive training course through Polestar to become certified on additional equipment such as the trapeze table, chair, ladder barrel, and spine corrector.
Stephanie believes that Pilates is for everybody and values progress over perfection. She finds great joy in seeing her clients progress over time and helping them find exercises or modifications that work for their bodies, regardless of any health conditions or injuries they may have. She shares, “It’s wonderful to see a client go from struggling to do an exercise to mastering it, and even finding ease in doing the same exercise only weeks or months down the road”. She has a particular interest in working with other individuals who have hypermobility, but enjoys working with clients of all ages and backgrounds. Stephanie’s goal is to create positive movement experiences for every client she teaches and help them grow in strength and confidence.
When she’s not teaching, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family, traveling to new places, and cooking/eating delicious food.
Stephanie currently offers 30 or 50 minute fully customized private sessions. Coming in early 2025- small group reformer classes! Stay tuned for more info!
