Bio

Tami has been a nurse practitioner for the past 15 years, but she also brings 28 years of nursing experience with her. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Florida and Master of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. She taught nursing clinical at Jacksonville University for 2 years before going back to school and complete her Master’s Degree and ARNP Certification from the University of Florida. She also has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science that she received prior to going to nursing school while she was a member of the University of Florida Swimming and Diving Team; she was a diver.
Her Nursing experience has been in Orthopedics, Rehabilitation, Home Health Care, and both Liver and Kidney Transplantation. She is certified as a Clinical Transplant Nurse. She has completed many continuing education classes in pain management, migraine management, pharmacology, endocrinology, and is interested in promoting health and wellness. She is participating in a Medical Symposium and Volunteering for the Medical Tent for the Ironman World Triathlon Championship in Kona, Hawaii this October. She loves to work closely with patients as they are recovering from any problem relating to their pain. She has had her own issues with multiple injuries with pain management problems to overcome and feels a close relationship with the patients. She is very much a patient-centered provider who listens to the patient to develop a plan of care that is beneficial to live life to the fullest. She continues to participate in continuing education in multiple areas of interest such as hormone management, new pain treatments, Botox, and migraine treatment.
In her spare time, Tami enjoys traveling, especially to Caribbean resorts or Europe, or just a relaxing cruise with her husband. Both of her sons followed in her footsteps and went to the University of Florida for their Bachelor’s degrees. Saturdays in the Fall are always fun watching Florida football. She also loves to participate in races, such as the Donna Breast Cancer Marathon weekend, Disney Princess weekend, or other 5K races in Jacksonville. She also enjoys going to watch NASCAR races or the Tampa Bay Lightening hockey team. When she is not working, she loves to be home enjoying relaxing with her husband and puppy, Lady.
